Article Marketing - Choosing Your Topic

It's a known fact that the best and cheapest way to attract traffic to your website is to write and publish your own original articles with a link back to your site, but what topic do you choose?

We are working on the assumption that you are starting out with a new website, so before you get down to the nitty gritty of topics, you need to decide on the niche of your site. This in itself can be a trial because the possible subjects are endless, so to make it a little easier, make a list of around ten subjects that are of real interest to you. Believe me, you will find it a whole lot easier to write articles on a subject which you already know about or which you want to research anyway.

Liz-e-Biz.com's Newsletter

Sent by Liz Canham 01 January 2008 Subject: January News from Liz-e-Biz

Welcome to the Liz-e-Biz Newsletter - January 2008

A very Happy New Year to you all.

Traditionally, the new year is a time for resolutions, often personal, but we should all try to make some resolutions in respect of our businesses too. How about resolving to stick to that plan which you should have made, or even making a plan in the first place. Make a budget and stick to it; project your earnings; track your advertising. I could go on, but I'm sure you get the idea!

Traffic Exchange News

Check out the new prize page, the marathon surfing competition (prizes include one year hosting) and the team competition change at StartXchange.

Traffic-Splash has introduced a Personalized Rotator. The New Rotator lets you add in a personal quote, it includes your name and it displays your photo - twice!

I forgot to tell you that Vinterchange turned four years old at the end of November. Congrats to Jennifer and John.

Tips Of The Month

  1. Don't forget to assign your credits at the traffic exchanges.
  2. Never, Never show your AdSense adverts on pages which you rotate in the traffic exchanges.
  3. Build your mailing list and brand your business! I stole this one from Jon Olson of I Love Hits.

December News from Liz-e-Biz.com

Welcome to the Liz-e-Biz Newsletter - December 2007

The festive season is upon us but there's still work to be done, so as well as spending time with your families, now is a good time to be planning for the year ahead.

Traffic Exchange News

I Love Hits has some great new features - "Tell a friend" and a site ranking facility. You can use tell a friend to let people know about ILH and also any site you see while surfing ILH that takes your fancy. The site ranking script lets you review and rank the sites you see while surfing so that means you can check out the reviews and rankings of your own site as well.

Traffic Splash reached 13,000 members last month - congratulations to Paul Kinder.

Traffic Roundup turned 6 years old in November and I Love Hits is over 6 too. Who said traffic exchanges wouldn't last?

Jon Olson of I Love Hits is now a co-owner of ClickCrazey, so be sure that things will start to look different over there. Well done to the outgoing Richard Taylor and good luck with any future venture.

Hit Pirate turns three years old in this month.

You may wonder why I bother to tell you all this, but I think that number of members together with longevity is a pretty good indication of the effectiveness of a traffic exchange.

Tips Of The Month

  1. Make your plan for 2008. Your income estimate and how you expect to achieve it is a good place to start.

  2. Take a look at all the tools you use and check with yourself whether they're actually effective. If not, delete them from your PC - they're just clutter.

  3. Check out your browser bookmarks and rationalise them. If you use them, put them in a folder clearly labelled so that you'll know what to find there. If you don't use them - delete them.

Wishing you all a very happy season of goodwill and a happy new year.

November News from Liz-e-Biz

I hope the ghouls didn't get you last night and enjoy bonfire night to those of you in the UK who still like to commemorate Guy Fawkes and his gunpowder plot. I'd also like to say Happy Thanksgiving for later in the month to readers in the USA.

Traffic Exchange News

I Love Hits is growing at a rate of 300 members per week.
Pro Traffic Shop traffic is up by 300% in a couple of months.
Traffic Splash has reached an amazing 11,000 members and the top five in Traffic Hoopla!

Tips Of The Month
  1. Try advertising your business offline. How about giving out business cards whenever you go into a shop or have your own T-shirts printed and wear them while you're out and about.

  2. Open a blog at Blogger.com or elsewhere and use it to publicise your website.

  3. Social bookmarking can really raise your search rankings with Google so checkout SocialMarker.com.

October News from Liz-e-Biz

Well, unfortunately, the summer is over for those of us in the northern hemisphere and winter is on the way. However, don't forget that this is a really busy time for those in the internet marketing arena. More people are online because their kids are back at school, so if you use the traffic exchanges in particular, now is the time to surf.

I may have told you this before, but I'm so thrilled with this tool that I'm going to tell you again! It's called AdSpyTracker and it tracks all the visits to your pages and records the clicks on your Google AdSense. So does Google, you might say, but that's all they tell you - that there has been a click. AdSpyTracker actually tells you the referring domain, referring keywords and much more, making it so much easier to refine your keyword targeting, etc.

If you host AdSense on your website, I really recommend that you take a look at AdSpyTracker.

Traffic Exchange News

WebCentre Surf reached 21,000 members last month. This is a great exchange from Simon Kelly and well worth a look.

Traffic Roundup Admin have kindly written out instructions on how to clear the cache of your computer, particularly if you are surfing multiple traffic exchanges and are experiencing difficulties. It is as follows:

Clearing Temporary Internet files in Internet Explorer:

1. From the Tools menu, select Internet Options.

2. Midway down the screen find Temporary Internet Files.

3. Click Delete Files to delete the temporary cache files.
To change the amount of space used for these files click Settings and slide the bar to the left (to reduce) or right (to increase) the amount of space. Maximum storage amount recommended is 100 MB. Then, where it says Check for newer versions of stored pages, make sure the radio button is select that says 'every time I visit the webpage', or 'every visit to the page', depending on your version.

It is also recommended that you go to the go to the Advanced tab, scroll down and put a check in the
box that says 'empty the temporary files folder when the browser is closed.

Clearing Temporary Internet files in Mozilla Fire Fox:

1. From the Tools menu, click Clear private data

2. Make sure there is a check in the box for Cache (the rest are option)

3. Click clear private data now
You can also click Tools, Options, Advanced, Network, then set the size of the Cache (no more than 100 MB) and/or click Clear Now.

Clearing Temporary Internet files Netscape:

1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.

2. To the left of Advanced (on the left side of the display) click on the Plus (+) sign.

3. Click on the word Cache.

4. Click the option Clear Disk Cache.
You can change the size of the cache by changing the number of kilobytes on the left side of the screen where it says Disk Cache __ Kbytes. Maximum storage amount recommended is 100 MB.

Again, versions of the browsers change and the verbiage changes, but this will give you a good idea of how it's done. If you are having problems surfing Traffic Roundup, try doing this, then restart the browser (and even the computer). That should fix it.

Tips Of The Month

  1. Don't try to multitask - you get less work done in the end.

  2. If you surf the traffic exchanges, don't forget to assign your credits. Even if you have pre-assigned 100%, many of the exchanges still need you to assign bonuses and prizes.

  3. Join the 30 Day Challenge. It's free and contains priceless information.

September News from Liz-e-Biz.com

Welcome to the Liz-e-Biz Newsletter - August 2007

Happy Labor Day to those of you in the USA - enjoy the holiday.

If you're trying to populate your website with content-rich articles but you don't have time to write them yourself, then the next best thing is Private Label Rights (PLR) articles. You can use them as they are, or amend them in part or in whole and put your own name to them.

I recommend InfoGoRound. In ADDITION to their exclusive niche article database, and in ADDITION to their Niche Article Packs, you'll receive not one, but TWO (and sometimes MORE!) complete private label product packages with a real world value of anywhere from $500-1,000! ...Meaning IGR literally pays anywhere from $500 to $1,000+ to have these products professionally developed on your behalf, for your exclusive benefit!

The first of the two monthly products is a book written exclusively for members by a professional freelance writer, and will consist of 40-100 pages of valuable information on a hot niche topic.

The second of the two monthly products is a "public domain" book (50-200+ pages), also covering an in-demand niche topic (and offered in easily modifiable text format just as the first product).

In addition to each of the two monthly private label products just covered, they'll provide you with corresponding private label sales letters! Each sales letter is 2-3 pages in length and is professionally written using the time-tested "AIDA" (Attention; Interest; Desire; Action) copywriting formula. As with the products, you are free to modify these sales letters in any way you desire - set your own pricing and money-back guarantees, add additional bullet points, you name it!

For sales letters of the quality IGR provides, you'd have to shell out anywhere from $100 - $500 per letter!

As if that's not enough already, IGR have decided to include professional web-site graphics packages to correspond with every private label product! Each graphics package will include:

- A header/banner
- Book cover
- Order button
- Footer
- Background image

Everything you need to put together a powerful direct-response web-site! You will be amazed at the quality of these graphics - we guaranteed it!

Click here to join IGR right away (if you haven't already).

Traffic Exchange News

I Love Hits has now passed the 80,000 member mark, although Jon Olson says that they're not all active. If you're one of the inactive ones, why not log in a surf for a while.

Click Ranch has exceeded 3,000 members - they haven't been around nearly as long as ILH so well done Jennifer and John.

Tips Of The Month
  1. Write an article a day, if you possibly can, and post it to EzineArticles.com
  2. Add new content to your website at least once a week.
  3. Don't forget to schedule time for yourself and for your family. All work and no play, etc.
Sincerely,
Liz Canham

August News from Liz-e-Biz.com

Our featured article this month is by Samuel Spoldir and you may copy and use it for your website or newsletter if you wish, as long as the resource box is left in tact.

Traffic Exchange News

This isn't strictly about a traffic exchange but a program which is heavily involved with that area of internet marketing.

Hits Connect have discovered (or rather Tim Rash of www.fasteasytraffic.com did) a way to track your signups right through to the thank you page even if that thank you page isn't on your site.

No other tracking service (to my knowledge) has this feature in place, it does mean the program owner has to add a small amount of code to his/her thank you pages, but don,t worry we have already spoken to many of them and the list of preferred partners who have this code installed will be listed in your members area very soon.

Now you can send a mailing out in list bandit for your favourite traffic exchange and know how successful that mailing was just by checking your Hits Connect stats.

Your Hits Connect account just became much more valuable, don't forget to log in and get your affiliate links and tell everyone about this great new feature. If you're not a member, join up now.

New Articles This Month
15 Minutes For More Optin Subscribers by Samuel Spoldir

A mailing list is very a powerfull tool, no suprise there. If you are running a blog you should have a mailing list setup on your RSS feed which sends out a quick reminder every time an entry is posted and it will bring in more traffic on a consistent basis.

The Art of E-Commerce by Michael Russell

So you've got your website, and people can email you about your products and services. The next step, if your home business is suitable, is to start selling them directly online.

Where is the Big Red Button? by Mike Paetzold

Everybody I talk to that is looking to build or business or just make a few dollars on line is looking for the big red button to push to be instantly successful.
Come on even if you won't admit it you have been looking too. I know have and have the t-shirt, coffe mug and more.

Tips Of The Month

  1. Find out as much as possible about your customers. If you know what they like, you'll be able to make them come back.

  2. If you don't have time to write articles from scratch, buy some PLR articles and personalise them.

  3. Use a tool like AdSpyTracker to get the real inside track on your AdSense stats.
